Safety:

  • You must own your own drysuit when paddling during the winter months November - March.
  • If you are renting a kayak during winter (November - March) you must know how to rescue yourself and others, always paddle with at least one other person, and have at least 2 years kayak experience, a Norwegian våttkort, or equivalent kayak qualification: Svensk or Euro Paddle Pass, or other similar kayak course certificate. 
  • If you do not have enough experience to paddle during winter then we recommend that you join our winter tour from Tjuvholmen here
  • Wear clothing appropriate to the weather conditions. If it is cold/rainy we recommend wearing woolen thermal underwear, a warm jacket/jersey and wet weather gear. Take water, sunscreen, and sun glasses.


General Info: 

Booking: Once you have booked you will be emailed instructions, including the codes to access the kayaking equipment. 

Opening hours: 0700 - 22.00, Monday to Sunday, All Year Around.  

Location:  Munch Brygge, Bjørvika, Oslo “Mad Goats Bjørvika” on Google maps. 

Pricing: Up to 3 hours 295NOK, 4 - 6hrs 395NOK, Full-day 6hrs + 695NOK (for multi-day rental, book per day for as many days as you need. 

Includes: Includes kayak, spray skirt, paddle, sponge, pump, and life vest.

Duration: Pick up and return at any time during the session booked. Please return before dark, unless you are renting for more than one day. 

Weather: Do not paddle on the fjord if the wind speed is higher than 8 m/s - you can check the weather conditions here. 

Security: Make sure you strap your kayaks back onto the kayak racks after your rental and then lock the kayaks. It is important you tie the kayaks securely, otherwise they can fall off into the water.

Age Limit: 13+ Children (13 - 16 years) must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.


Good to know (and safety stuff one more time!);

  • We recommend at least one person in the group has their kayak certification from the Norwegian Paddle Federation, commonly known as "the Våttkort”. 
  • You must have enough experience to rescue yourself and others if you plan to rent a kayak from us. 
  • You must wear a drysuit between the months November and March. We do not provide drysuits. 
  • Please check the weather before departure. If the wind speed is above 5 m/s we recommend you stay close to land and paddle in sheltered areas. If the wind speed is above 8m/s we are happy to give you a voucher to book another day. Just email your booking reference to kontakt@madgoats.no
  • There are no changing facilities, but the kayak raft is sheltered and out of sight.
  • Wear clothing appropriate to the weather conditions. Take water, sunscreen, and sun glasses.
  • We suggest putting your belongings in a dry bag.
  • Please take all rubbish away with you after kayaking and do not leave in the kayak.
  • Please empty your kayak of water after finishing your paddling trip, and sponge out any remaining water.
